History of Hanlon Investment Management
Hanlon Investment Management, Inc. is a SEC Registered Investment Advisor located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ founded in 1999 by Sean Hanlon, CFP®.
During Sean's successful career as a Registered Rep with two large wire-house firms, and then with a large independent broker dealer, Sean became increasingly aware of the need for professional portfolio management for client accounts. In the late 1990’s Sean developed and implemented in his client accounts the Tactical and Strategic portfolio management allocation technique which is still utilized today by Hanlon Investment Management.
Having found that other Registered Representatives and Advisors were also desirous of “defensively minded” strategies for their clients, Hanlon Investment Management began to wholesale their portfolio management services in 2002. Since then firm assets under management (AUM) have grown quite considerably. A key to the growth at Hanlon has been entering into over one hundred and fifty Selling Agreement relationships with independent broker dealers / registered investment advisers and having hundreds of their financial advisors refer client accounts to Hanlon Investment Management. Correspondingly, the staffing at Hanlon Investment Management has kept pace with this successful growth, now in excess of fifty staff and professionals.
Hanlon Investment Management offers investment management of portfolios held at Pershing and Schwab, variable annuity contracts at over 16 VA companies, variable universal life policies at Western Reserve Life, and Nationwide 401(k) - 403(b) accounts. Hanlon is also the subadvisor to four subaccounts in the Transamerica variable annuity and Western Reserve Life variable annuity and variable universal life product.
Portfolios are primarily composed of mutual funds (purchased at no-load or net asset value on load funds), exchange traded funds, closed-end funds, and where applicable, variable annuity and variable universal life sub-accounts.
Hanlon Investment Management offers four portfolio allocations for brokerage, variable annuity, and variable universal life, and six portfolio allocations for the 401(k) - 403(b) product. The specific allocation for each client account is determined by an Investor Profile Questionnaire that is completed by the client with the assistance of their Financial Advisor.
