Hanlon Team

Sean Hanlon, CFP®
Chairman, CEO and Chief Investment Officer

Sean Hanlon, CFP® founded Hanlon Investment Management in 1999 after having been a successful Financial Advisor since 1983. During Sean's successful career as a Registered Representative with two large wire house broker dealers and a large independent broker dealer, Sean became increasingly aware of the need for professional portfolio management for client accounts. The combination of Sean's engineering background and his desire for improved investment performance for his clients prompted Sean to pursue tireless research in the late 1990’s. This resulted in Sean developing the Hanlon portfolio management strategies, which are best described as a combination of Modern Portfolio Theory and Intermediate Term Trend Following (MPT / ITTF). After successfully deploying these strategies in his direct client accounts, Sean learned that other Registered Representatives were desirous of these same strategies and the wholesaling of these services was started at Hanlon.

Sean holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey
